6-months-old and trying new things!

AP turned 6 months Saturday and it's amazing how "curious" babies are at this stage.  When someone walks through the door, she turns to see who it is.  When the dogs shake and their collars make noise, she automatically sits up to see where they are.  She's a nosey little critter!

This stage is a blast!  We started spoon feeding at 4 months, with the hopes that she would eat 3 meals a day from the spoon, with 3 bottles in between, by the time she was 6 months.  WELL, we haven't conquered this but she's still growing like a weed.  Ms. Annie spoon fed her apples yesterday at school, but said she really wasn't interested in it.  Perhaps there is too much going on for her to concentrate on eating?  Who knows, but we are making an attempt every day.

Anyway, back to this "stage."  On my WTEWYE alert Saturday it said now is a good time to introduce her to the sippy cup and finger foods that dissolve in her mouth so we have done just that.  We work on both every night after her dinner at 5:30 and she's getting the hang of them.  The sippy cup is fascinating to her - it's cold and has a new liquid (water) inside.  When she finally gets the water in her mouth she smiles which tells me she likes it.  I bought some Mum Mums over the weekend and she LOVES gnawing them.  Unfortunately they make a huge mess but hey, who cares.  Isn't that part of being a baby?
