I'm GROWING!

I have this app called iTrack Baby on my iPhone that allows you to upload pictures (saved by date which calculates their age), track their growth and milestones, add appointment information, etc.  It's really a need app for someone like me who loves to know every single detail when we go to the pediatrician for our wellness exams.

CHEERS to my sweet girl for her incredible growth and sleeping habits!

Picture day

Before we had Allie, I told myself I would hire a professional photographer to take newborn, 3, 6, 9 and 12 month pictures of her.  We have a nice camera, but the pictures I take just aren't the same.

The lady I hired for her newborn pictures was WONDERFUL, but extremely expensive in my book.  We loved every single one of Allie's proofs, but literally had to limit the quantity and sizes we purchased (only immediate family got one) because we had to order them through the photographer.  I completely understand why she comes with a nice price tag...her pictures are unbelievable.

Given we still have 4 sessions, I needed to find someone who was moderately priced, and allowed you to purchase all the prints on a CD.  After talking to some friends we found a lady named Jennifer Rouprich...she came today to take Allie's 3-month pictures.  We could not coordinate schedules to save our lives - after all, my husband works in college athletics and is constantly on the go - so she came this afternoon at 4:30.  MAN could Allie have been any fussier!

Poor, poor baby girl.  She was not having any part of posing, smiling, laughing...NOTHING.  We were able to take a couple family shots, then s#*^ hit the fan.  My girl AP just wasn't up for anymore.

Jennifer was wonderful and wants us to be happy with the pictures so she's coming back next week to finish the pictures of Allie by herself.

As Jennifer was leaving, Allie went ballistic.  Ben took her back to our room and after 10 minutes or so she finally calmed down and fell asleep minus clothes (notice the blanket).

She woke up around 7, ate, took a bath, then passed out on dad in her new Gymboree monkey jommies.

Video for Papa B & Aunt Cindy

iPhone's are AMAZING!

I....love....BATH TIME!

Allie absolutely LOVES bath time.  I caught some pics tonight!

Total HAM

Given it was so hot at the tailgate last week, AP and I decided to stay home today.  We hung out with the Ross' and McCathran's, then ran to eat at George's before they headed to the tailgate.  Since I traveled 3 days earlier in the week I was really looking forward to it just being Allie and me today.

After our late lunch we came home and Allie napped for an hour or so.  When she woke up she was in the best mood.  We laid on our bed for at least an hour and she kicked, talked, squealed and tried to roll over several times.  I caught some of her funny faces...she's a total ham!

Reality sets in

My first a) trip for work and b) night away from Allie happened this week.

I had to go to our home office in Tampa for 3 nights - Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday.  I'm not going to lie, it was definitely tough.  The first night I slept like crap.  I went to bed around 11 and woke up at 4:30 and couldn't go back to sleep...it just didn't feel right being away from home.  I worked long hours so by Tuesday night I was extremely exhausted and finally slept ok.

I was able to get home around 5 on Thursday so I spent as much time with Allie as I possibly could.

All in all the trip went well...but it's amazing how much she changed just in 3 days!  Her head strengthened, she made different sounds and faces, started eating more...unbelievable.  It truly shows just how fast babies change.

First LSU Tailgate

Today, dad, Allie, Robert, Pam and I had lunch at George's then went to the tailgate for an hour or so.  We were supposed to go to a function with Ben from 3-5, however it was miserably hot outside so Allie and I headed home around 3.  I love this little girl so much...how could you not, look at her!

Grandparent's Day at LSU

LSU held "Grandparent's Day" Thursday and we were so blessed to have dad drive down to be there for little Allie P.  We had a great time, and of course I caught some good pictures on my iPhone!

So excited to see her Papa B!

Daddy takes AP to school!

Ben got in late from Alexandria last night so he wanted to take Allie to school to spend some time with her this morning.  My sweet little girl slept 11 hours again last night...school is really wearing her out!

Your pediatrician is part of your family!

When I found out I was pregnant, I sent an email to our close friends asking who their pediatrician was.  Out of roughly 10 people I sent the email to, two of them responded with Dr. Franz and literally wrote an entire book on just how wonderful she is.  I'm not one to research things (who has time!) so the fact that two friends recommended her meant she must be pretty darn awesome.

Our first visit with her (Allie was 5-days-old) was sad - we had to go over both family's medical history so I had to disclose the details of mom's death - but warm in the fact that she made us feel like we were on top of the world.  Dr. Franz is simply the best thing a parent could ask for.  I've never felt so comfortable with a doctor before...her demeanor is so calm and she always makes me feel like I deserve "parent of the year!"  She dotes on Allie and her growth, comments on how lucky she is to have parents like me and Ben and commends us on how much we work with her on developmental skills.

I wish I could go to Dr. Franz, literally!  It's amazing how important of a role your pediatrician plays in not only your child's life, but yours as well.  Being a first time parent, I've called the after hours hotline several times for random things.  Dr. Franz is the the type of doctor who reads Allie's chart before walking through the door so she knows and remembers everything...more doctor's need to learn from her!

I look forward to Allie's monthly wellness exams.  I cannot explain enough just how much I love Dr. Franz...she's simply wonderful!

Allie's new love - OATMEAL BOTTLES!

Last week I took Allie to see Dr. Franz because she wasn't eating well.  Dr. Franz said she thought Allie might have a slight case of acid reflux and suggested we mix 1 tbsp. for every ounce of formula to thicken her food to avoid the refulx.  We did just that...

...and she loved it!  Dr. Franz said we needed to do this for every feeding, however the next day at school Ms. Crystal said they were not allowed to feed oatmeal through a bottle (boo) so Allie only got it 3 times per day, essentially when she was home with us.

Today at her appointment, Dr. Franz wrote a doctor's note suggesting we feed Allie oatmeal in every bottle to calm the refulx so she's going to be one happy girl now!

Visit to Marshall!

Over the weekend, Ben headed to Nashville for the LSU game and AP and I went to visit family in Marshall.  We stayed at Papa B's which totally made his weekend.  It's amazing the items you have to bring when traveling with a newborn - bag full of clothes, diapers, wipes, formula, bottles, oatmeal, Nap Nanny, bouncer, car seat...I'm sure I'm missing something.  Dad and I always joke that if mom was here, she would freak at the amount of "things" that come home with us because once the Ross' hit town, my room is in complete disarray!

Anyway - Friday afternoon dad, Allie and I made a quick trip to Wal-Mart for the "Allie & Papa B essentials" like formula, Dr. Brown's cereal nipples, milk and of course beer!  We ate dinner then got to visit with Uncle Steve, Eloise, Kevin, Jake and Millie.

Saturday, Papa B played golf with the usual suspects and Allie and I visited with Mama and Papa for a couple hours.  G Rob and Pammy (Ben's parents) watched Allie for a couple hours Saturday evening while Papa B and I ran to the Horseshoe (where we lost - BOO!) and to Herby K's for a couple Shrimp Buster's.  They enjoyed their time with Allie P and got to see just how big of a ham she really is.  Saturday night, Uncle Steve, Kristy, Clint, Hannah and Clay came to visit.  Uncle Steve (my mom's brother) just loves Allie P so anytime we are in town he is there.  After bath time, he fed her a bottle and rocked her to sleep (of course I had to take a picture).

Sunday we had lunch with the entire fam - Mama, Papa, Jamie, Brad, Molly Kasey, Steve, Sandi and dad, then headed to Shreveport where we visited with Nanny for a couple hours.  Nanny is Ben's 85-year-old grandmother who is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet.  She's battled cancer twice that I know of (I think it's actually three times) but has the best mentality.  Allie is her first great-granddaughter so when we visit I always have to capture as many pictures as possible!

Papa B and Allie before lunch Sunday:

3-months stats

My...dear...Lord my child is growing up.

Today was Allie's 3-month check-up and boy is she healthy!  See below for her stats...

Weight - 13 lbs. 7 oz.
Length - 25 1/4 inches (wonder where she gets this - LOL)
Head - 16 1/4 inches

Allie is in the 90th percentile for weight and height and 75th for her head.  Based on the Denver Developmental Screening Test we complete at each visit, she is on a 5-month-old level developmentally.

So that's all the good stuff on Allie.  Please check out my little ham while waiting for the doctor.  I swear, this kid cracks me up with some of the faces she does.  Keep in mind I took all 5 pictures within probably 10 seconds of one another...

The World of Etsy

I've seen posts on Facebook of people selling homemade items on Etsy, but it wasn't until this morning while talking to my friend Autumn that I realized just how awesome the website is.  For those of you reading this with kiddos, you need to check it out.  I LOVE Allie P in smocked dresses, monogrammed bubbles...basically anything that is unique and Etsy is the perfect place for someone like me to spend entirely too much money!

I have searched for a unique Christmas dress for Allie for our Christmas cards, but just couldn't find what I was looking for.  I went back and forth between wanting a smocked outfit or something monogrammed that wouldn't solely be "Christmas attire."  Well, I found what I was looking for today.

Check out this cute custom dress...I can't wait to see her in it!

And of course a little girl HAS to have a Thanksgiving bubble.  How could I turn this down?
